Past Lives and Religious Beliefs

Belief in past lives does not conflict with Judeo-Christian beliefs, and interestingly enough fits in quite comfortably with some Eastern religions.

The notion and concept that the soul is eternal and everlasting focuses on our relationship with God and the search for the purpose of our existence in this life, as well as every life that we return to here on earth.

In past life regression (which is the method to uncover our past lives), there is a journey of self- discovery to identify any unresolved problems and issues that we have faced in our multiple lives. By searching for a past life, we often discover the reason for present day trauma that can be healed and released. Healing, along with the emotional release of pain and psychological blockages, are the reasons that many people undergo past life regression therapy. You can heal the present pain and trauma by searching in the past for the source and releasing it to move forward in this life.

Many people are uncomfortable with the notion that the soul is eternal and that it proceeds through an evaluative process in a 'Soul Library' after death to determine next steps for healing and transformation of the soul, so that it can move closer to God as a spiritual form. This concept of soul transformation and its journey to purity in order to reach God does not conflict with any religion, unless there are specific religious constraints.

One of my colleagues is very religious, but firmly believes that when she dies, she will go to heaven and stay there eternally. Another colleague of mine is spiritual, but does not believe that the soul is eternal. Having had a past life experience myself, I believe that the soul is eternal and transformative as it progresses from one life to another, and reaches a point in the journey where it attains a higher form closest to God.

In my next novel, 'God Denied', Ashford is a non-believer and God-Denier. He grapples with his lack of faith and comes up with a theory of historical evolution that replaces his lack of religion. He flounders and suffers without direction towards a love interest named Caitlyn, who is more focused on her own life. Ashford’s tumultuous childhood and history can help one understand how formative your early childhood years are in shaping your life’s beliefs.

Past Lives theory and beliefs can be part of your religious faith and worth exploring through soul-searching, reading, and meditation.  When your therapist goes back into your past history to explore early childhood traumas, there is no reason why they need to stop the search at ages 2-3.

We have all had past lives that can illuminate the reasons for present-day challenges and issues that stop/limit our growth as eternal souls.

Read the discoveries that are uncovered in 'God Denied' and what purpose these discoveries lead to in the next book in the Past Lives trilogy.
